Location & Getting There: The Stroller-Friendliness Test

Stroller Notes:
- All elevators and pathways to MiraCosta are stroller-friendly
- The entrance from the DisneySea side makes it especially easy for guests with young children
Nearby Amenities:
- Convenience stores and drugstores are just outside the Disney Resort Line area, but not inside MiraCosta
- You’ll find everything you need inside the park or via in-room dining and gift shops
The Vibe: Check-in & First Impressions

The moment you walk into the lobby, you’re greeted with grandeur — soaring ceilings, murals, and a ship sculpture that captures the wonder of DisneySea. Our daughter was captivated immediately, pointing at the painted characters on the dome. Staff were courteous and warm, especially with children. Even check-in felt magical.
The Room: A Deep Dive for Families

We stayed in a Porto Paradiso Side room, which offered an incredible view of the park. The décor is rich and classic, with subtle Disney detailing throughout — from bed runners featuring mermaid Minnie to a grand vanity mirror.

Room Highlights for Families:
- Twin beds with high-quality linens
- Spacious area with a three-seater sofa — plenty of room to open suitcases
- Complimentary disposable slippers for both adults and children
- Generous closet space
The room was large enough that our 5-year-old had space to play and watch outside through the grand windows.
Food & Dining: What Our Kids Actually Ate
We tried both in-room dining and the buffet breakfast at “Oceano,” the hotel’s main restaurant.

Dinner:
- Chicken Grill: Delicious and juicy — a hit with both parents.
- Kids’ Pasta Plate: Meat sauce pasta served on a Mickey-shaped plate. Our daughter was thrilled.
- Seafood Pasta: Rich with fresh seafood, beautifully presented.

Ordering via the TV in our room was a fun novelty and super convenient after a long park day. The interface offered various categories including kid meals, allergy-friendly dishes, and desserts.

Breakfast Buffet at Oceano:
- Requires reservation via the official website
- Dishes lean toward Western cuisine (eggs, bread, fruit, etc.)
- Smaller selection than expected, but everything was high quality
- Our daughter loved picking her own breakfast — especially the yogurt and mini pancakes
- If you score a window seat, you can see the park as you eat!
Fun for All: Activities On-site & Nearby
Tip 1: Use Happy Entry

As hotel guests, we got into DisneySea 15 minutes early. That gave us time for character greetings — we saw Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy before the crowds arrived!
We lined up around 7:30 AM, and surprisingly, there were already quite a few people ahead of us. Despite that, getting in early gave us a better chance to purchase Disney Premier Access tickets for popular attractions before they sold out.
In winter, it can be quite cold in the early morning, so warm clothing is essential while waiting.
On this day, we entered the park first with Happy Entry and then had breakfast afterward, which helped us avoid the morning rush at the restaurant.
Tip 2: Don’t Skip the Pool

The hotel has a beautifully designed indoor pool and a jacuzzi. While not a major park attraction, it was a great way to relax in the evening. The Roman-style interior and warm lighting made it feel like a hidden luxury.
Note: The pool is not free — admission is charged separately (prices are per day, with re-entry allowed on the same day):
- Summer Season
- Adults (ages 12 and up): ¥4,000
- Children (ages 4–11): ¥2,000
- Non-Summer Season
- Adults (ages 12 and up): ¥3,000
- Children (ages 4–11): ¥1,500
Spa area only / non-swimming admission (for accompanying guests or observers):
- Adults: ¥2,000
- Children: ¥1,000
Towels and lockers are provided, and swimsuits can be rented for an additional fee. While not a major park attraction, it was a great way to relax in the evening. The Roman-style interior and warm lighting made it feel like a hidden luxury.
Tip 3: Stay in a Park-View Room

Waking up to the sunrise over the park and seeing the lit-up Arendelle Castle at night was pure magic.

Ages 3–8 will especially love the Disney theming and access to characters.
Final Thoughts
Hotel MiraCosta isn’t just a place to sleep — it’s part of the Disney magic. With early access to the park, luxurious yet kid-friendly rooms, and thoughtful touches like child-sized slippers and character-themed everything, it’s a dream come true for families. Our 5-year-old couldn’t stop smiling — and honestly, neither could we.
