Staying at THE OSAKA STATION HOTEL, Autograph Collection with Kids: Our Honest Review
We stayed at the Osaka Station Hotel Autograph Collection with our 4-year-old child. The hotel opened on July 31, 2024, and is part of the Marriott group.
Directly connected to the west exit of JR Osaka Station. A shopping mall called KITTE also opened in the same building. The mall includes restaurants, convenience stores, and cafés with deli foods—very convenient for meals.
Osaka Station Hotel was built on the site of the former Osaka Station. To carry on that history, the interior and decorations reflect elements of the old station. It’s a great choice for railway enthusiasts and families. All rooms are on the 30th floor or above, offering a panoramic view of Osaka.
This is a stay from August 2024.

There is another Marriott hotel with a similar name near Shin-Osaka Station, so be careful not to confuse the two.
Grand Front Osaka is also within walking distance, although it requires a bit of a walk. There’s an indoor play area called BorneLund, which was very useful for kids to play even in the hot weather.

Check-in at the 29th Floor Lobby

The hotel entrance is inside the KITTE shopping mall on the 1st floor. From there, you take the elevator up to the lobby on the 29th floor where the front desk is located.

The lobby is very open and offers a beautiful view! There’s also a nursing room with a lock near the restrooms on this floor.

Near the front desk is a drinking fountain called the “WATER STATION.” It was inspired by the old Osaka Station and features displays of vintage bottles (canteens?). It was quite interesting.

This is a water dispenser at a child’s height. You pull out a paper cup, open it, and fill it with water. Since the cup is made from very thin paper, it may be difficult for small children to use. My daughter had a bit of trouble with it.
The water tap is sensor-activated. Water flows automatically when you place a cup under it.

Across from it, there was a capsule toy machine with train models! It costs 500 yen per try (cash only), which is a bit pricey, but it makes a nice souvenir.

The photo may be unclear, but it shows a clock. Two characters are constantly cleaning it and diligently moving the minute hand.
It was fun to watch, and we could’ve stood there for quite a while just observing.
Staying on the 34th Floor

We stayed in a twin “Scenic” room on the 34th floor!

Surprisingly, even the elevator hall had a water dispenser! Very convenient.

When we entered the room, we noticed a unique lamp. It was perfect for placing the key card, but I’m not sure what it symbolizes… (I forgot to ask, so I recommend checking with the staff!)
Bedroom

The twin room is 40 square meters in size.
As soon as you open the door, the sink and bathroom are right in front of you. The layout is very stylish.
The bedroom and bathroom can be separated with a door, but the glass-walled bathroom can’t be completely hidden. It might feel a little inconvenient depending on the situation, but it should be fine for families. Our daughter looked very happy with the large bed.
Being on the 34th floor, the view of Osaka was spectacular! The night view was also beautiful.

A view of the entire room from the window side.
By the way, hotel information can be accessed on the TV.

There are power outlets, USB-C, and USB ports next to the bed, which are very handy.

The room had a two-seater sofa and a large round table. On the table was a box containing…
Traditional rice crackers (iwaokoshi), candy, and drinkable dashi (broth)! My husband tried it and said it was delicious. Japanese dashi really is amazing—definitely give it a try.
Mini Bar

There were teabags of sencha (green tea) and Japanese black tea.

The refrigerator and electric kettle were stored in the lower right section beneath the TV.
Looking at the photos later, I realized there was likely a pitcher for filling water!
It would be very handy to use for getting water. If you bring your own tumbler, that would work too.
Next to this drawer, there was another drawer containing a safe.

The drinks in the refrigerator are not complimentary.

Opening the door to the left of the TV revealed a 1-liter bottle of mineral water, an espresso machine, and cups.
Bathroom, Sink, and Toilet

The sink was independent from the bath, and the space was large, making it very easy to use!

The amenities were so extensive that it felt like nothing was missing. There were even nail files, skincare sets, and sheet masks.
The toothbrush had a bamboo handle, and the razor had a wooden handle.

The bathroom had a Japanese-style washing area, which was a great size for bathing with children. There was also a stool and a rainfall shower 👍

The toilet was in a separate room. It was very spacious and equipped with a washlet.
Closet

There was a closet behind a door next to the bed. When opened fully, the door acted as a partition between the bedroom and the bathroom.

The slippers provided in this room were incredibly fluffy…!

The roomwear was a separate top and bottom set! They also provided children’s roomwear.
The bottom drawer contained an iron and a laundry bag. An ironing board was also stored in the closet.
Children’s Amenities

The closet included amenities for children! A toothbrush, slippers, body sponge, and roomwear.
My daughter usually wears 110 cm clothing, and the sleeves were a bit long, so she wore them rolled up.
In-Room Dining

Osaka Station Hotel offers in-room dining. You can view the menu on the TV, and an English menu is also available.
The pricing felt rather high overall.
Breakfast costs 9,000 yen. We saw the same price listed at the restaurant, so it appears the cost is the same whether you dine in your room or at the restaurant 🤔

It was nice to see that there was a kids’ menu as well.

We ordered room service on this day. The food was very good, but to be honest, the quantity didn’t quite match the price 😅 (especially the hamburger). Our daughter had the kids’ spaghetti.
According to the menu, they use wagyu beef, so they may be particular about the ingredients. The beef udon, by the way, was really delicious!
Perhaps because it had just opened, it took about an hour for the food to be delivered. If you’re considering room service, it’s better to order early.
Although we had mixed feelings compared to other hotels, we really appreciated being able to have a meal delivered directly to the room 🙏
Breakfast at THE MOMENT GRILL & DINING

*This space is part of the restaurant area, but the main seating area is actually across from the one shown in this photo.
We had breakfast at the restaurant on the lobby floor. Breakfast starts at 7:00 AM.
We stayed for two nights. On the weekend, a line began forming before 8:00 AM. We went at 7:30 AM and found seats available, but it was already quite crowded. Going early is recommended.

The restaurant has a nice ambiance, and the window seats offered a beautiful view.

There were sofa seats too, which were very helpful when dining with kids.

To order from the egg station, take the number plate from your table. You can choose from three types of omelets, or order eggs Benedict.
It takes a little time to prepare, so it’s better to place your order early.

This is the eggs Benedict.
Both the omelet and eggs Benedict were absolutely delicious…!!

It was too crowded to take photos, but there were both Japanese and Western-style dishes, and a great selection of fruit.
The salad section featured avocado marinade, tomato caprese, and more. For bread, they had danishes, white bread, brioche, etc. The croissants were especially crispy and tasty.
By the way, the rice was served using a machine that automatically scooped it into bowls.
We stayed for two nights, and the breakfast menu didn’t change much between the two days.

The fruit section included melon, muscat grapes, fruit tarts, and more. Fresh juices were also available.
There was even a day with mango, so the offerings may vary by day or season.

The fruit was incredibly delicious…!

We were given a child-sized cup, but there didn’t appear to be any kids’ cutlery.
Our picky-eater daughter didn’t eat much 😅 But she really liked the natto and ate a lot of it.

They also had sushi! My husband said it was delicious 🍣
About OFURO and the Gym
Osaka Station Hotel has a large public bath (OFURO), but it is only available to Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite members or guests staying in rooms with OFURO access (suites and rooms on the 38th floor).
The gym is open 24 hours. It appeared that staff were stationed there as well.
