We stayed at the Tokyo Marriott Hotel! It’s just a 5-minute free shuttle ride from Shinagawa Station, nestled in the leafy Gotenyama area — a surprisingly peaceful spot for central Tokyo.
The room had been renovated and was really clean, and the night view was gorgeous.
The breakfast buffet was a highlight — the egg station omelette was silky smooth and delicious, with a wide range of both Japanese and Western dishes. They also have kids’ amenities, making it a great choice for families!
How to Get to Tokyo Marriott Hotel
By train: Take the free shuttle bus from JR/Keikyu Shinagawa Station (Takanawa Exit) — it’s about 5 minutes. On foot, it’s roughly a 10-minute walk. The shuttle runs every 5–15 minutes during morning rush on weekdays, and about every 20 minutes at other times. On weekends and holidays, it runs approximately every 20 minutes.
By car: There’s underground parking on B3 with about 70 spaces. Overnight parking for hotel guests is ¥2,000 per night. Note the height limit of 2.1m if you have a larger vehicle.
From the airport: Haneda Airport is just 12 minutes to Shinagawa Station via the Keikyu Line. Super convenient if you’re flying in from overseas or another part of Japan!
Check-In

The first thing that struck us when we walked into the lobby was the massive 17-meter-high atrium! The ceiling is incredibly tall, almost like being in an airport. Natural light pours in, creating a really pleasant, open atmosphere.
There were lots of international guests — it definitely felt like a Marriott.
A handy tip: if you take the escalator down from the restaurant area, there’s a FamilyMart convenience store (inside Gotenyama Trust City). Super useful for picking up anything you forgot — especially with kids, when you always seem to be missing something!
Our Stay in a Deluxe King Room

We stayed in a Deluxe King room — 38m² with a Japanese-modern interior in tones of purple and greige.
The room has been renovated and looks really clean and modern. The king-size bed (180cm × 200cm, Simmons mattress) was more than big enough for our family of three. There’s also a sofa, which was great for relaxing after the kids fell asleep.
The night view from the room was stunning! The hotel sits on a hill in Gotenyama, so you get a wide, sparkling view of the Tokyo skyline.
Room Amenities
One thing we loved — a Nespresso coffee machine! Multiple capsule varieties were provided, so you can enjoy a proper coffee in your room. For tea, there were four types of TWG Tea (jasmine, English breakfast, sencha, and Earl Grey).
The minibar fridge came stocked with Perrier, beer, and more. Two bottles of mineral water were complimentary.
There’s a large round work desk, a TV, a safety box, and a bathrobe hanging in the closet.
Bathroom & Toiletries

The bathroom has a bathtub only (no separate washing area), which did feel a little dated — but it was clean and well-maintained. There’s a separate shower booth.
Standard toiletries were all provided: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, and soap, plus a toothbrush, mouthwash, razor, and comb.

There were also kids’ amenities by the sink — a children’s toothbrush and body towel, plus kids’ slippers!
Breakfast Buffet

Breakfast is served at “Lounge & Dining G” on the 1st floor — a spacious restaurant with about 200 seats. It’s open from 7:00 to 11:00 (last order 10:30). Note that the buffet format is for weekends and holidays only — weekdays offer a set menu (Japanese or Western).
We slept in and headed down around 8:00, and there was already quite a queue…! Going earlier would probably be smoother.
The buffet covers a really wide range — Japanese and Western options. On the Japanese side: grilled fish (salmon and mackerel), tamagoyaki, natto, nori, handmade tofu, miso soup, and rice porridge. Western options include scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, and handmade quiche.

The bread corner was impressive — freshly baked every morning at the hotel. Croissants, danishes, doughnuts, and muffins were beautifully arranged in wooden boxes. There was also a great selection of fresh fruit including melon and strawberries.
The Egg Station Was Amazing!

The standout for us was the egg station! It’s made-to-order — a chef cooks right in front of you, and you can choose from plain omelette, eggs Benedict, fried eggs, and more.
The omelette was perfectly silky and so delicious…! They even bring it to your table once it’s ready. Such a nice touch.
You can also order pancakes at the egg station. They were fluffy and light — the perfect way to start the morning. Our daughter loved them!
There’s also a noodle station where you can order pho or udon. Between all the stations, the breakfast alone made the stay worthwhile.
By the way, if you’re a Marriott Bonvoy member, breakfast is free for children aged 12 and under. You’ll receive a kids’ breakfast card at check-in. That’s a huge perk!
Final Thoughts

We had a really comfortable stay at the Tokyo Marriott Hotel — the renovated room was clean and modern, and the breakfast buffet was outstanding!
It’s easy to reach from Shinagawa Station and close to Haneda Airport, making it a great base for exploring Tokyo. The kids’ amenities were a welcome bonus. Children aged 12 and under can sleep for free (up to 2 kids per room with 2 adults), which is a big plus for families.
If you stay here, definitely go for a plan that includes breakfast — the egg station omelette and pancakes are seriously worth it!
